Our March 2024 Cruise on the MSC Seaside in the Yacht Club

In Barb’s own words

WOW . . . What a fabulous cruised!!!

We’ve been to amazing, exciting, beautiful places . . . BUT . . . we have NEVER experienced a cruise filled with LOVE like this one, well maybe in Aruba when I almost died . . . BUT that was a whole different situation – whew!!

This great experience started when we were walking about the ship getting the lay of the land and heard “Barb, Ed . . . I don’t believe it!!! It was our Angel (his name as well as who he is!) He was a casino host we had met 8 years ago on a Celebrity ship AND he rememberd us! WOW!!

This cruise line, MSC is amazing if you are fortunate to be in the Yacht Club (YC)!! They provide you with your own Butler and while he has other cabins, he is ALWAYS there for you . . ALWAYS!!

Then there is the YC pool deck with beautiful lounges, a fabulous pool, outrageous food for breakfast, lunch and in between each of those meals. Magically when we arrived each morning on the pool deck there was a double lounger all ready for us, including towels and an ice bucket with our drinks in it. There was any drink or wine that we wanted 24 – 7!!

THEN . . . yes, there’s more – a lovely YC dining room for dinner with our own wait-staff, beautiful surroundings, great food and live music. Right below the dining room there is a wonderful lounge with live music all the drinks you want as well as snacks always there.

Entertainment from our reserved section in the showroom was our kind of fun, music we love. . I knew every song and danced in my seat - - just fun. On othere ships there is usually a "throw away" show the isn't very good. On this ship the were ALL good!!

THEN!! We always get to know a lot of the casino staff but this time it was unreal!! I could go on and on but let me sum it up by saying the last night almost everyone including the bar staff hugged us and even a couple of tears. We were dubbed Mama and Papa and Angel said I am now officially his daughters “gram”. We face timed with her several times with Angel and she was a delightful 2-year old.

As you can imagine, I was a mess BUT so touched by all the love and we can’t wait until next time.

Today I can’t wait to hug all my family – we are truly blessed.

October - 2024

On September 30, we will fly to Barcelona for a couple of days before boarding the Celebrity Equinox on October 2. We will cruise to Marseille, France, Nice, France, Santa Margherita, Italy, Florence, Italy, and Naples, Italy before arriving in Rome on October 12. We are overnight in Florence and we plan to take the train to the city and stay in the city overnight before going back to the ship the next day. We then plan to fly to Marrakech, Morocco for a couple of days before flying home. Come cruise with us!!

Spring - 2024

On February 28, we will fly to Miami for a couple of days before boarding the MSC Seascape for a 7 night Easter Caribbean cruise. We will cruise to Nassau, San Juan, Dominican Republic and Ocean Cay, MSC’s private island. This will be our second time on an MSC ship and once again we will be in the Yacht Club. We hope our experience on this ship equals our experience in Europe last October. It was the best cruise we have ever taken - the cruise, not the people as we love the people who have cruised with us before and hope to in the future

October 2022

We are planning on flying to Rome on October 3 and spend a few nights there before a 12 Night Israel & Mediterranean Cruise on the Celebrity Apex going to the following ports ROME (CIVITAVECCHIA), ITALY OLYMPIA (KATAKOLON), GREECE ATHENS (PIRAEUS), GREECE EPHESUS (KUSADASI), TURKEY HAIFA, ISRAEL - From Haifa, we will travel by car to JERUSALEM (ASHDOD), ISRAEL and stay overnight right outside the entrance to the Old City. LIMASSOL, CYPRUS. and finally depart the ship in Rome. We will spend 2 days in Rome before taking the train to Venice for 5 days and then fly to Prague for 4 days before coming home.

July 2022

On July 19 we will fly to Seattle for overnight before flying to Fairbanks for 2 days. Then we will travel by Dome car train to Denali for 2 days. After Danali, we will again take the train to Anchorage for 2 more days. Then the train again to Seward for 2 days until we board the Celebrity Milennium on and have a tour until boarding the Celebrity on July 29 for a 7 night Alaska Southbound cruise. We will cruise to the Huybbarb Glacier, Jueneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan the Inside Passage ands arrive in Vancouver to 2 days before before flying home on August 7.

October - 2021 -

We had planned to travel to Venice for a couple of days and then take the Celebrity Constellation on a Venice to Rome 9 night cruise that begins Oct 14. After the cruise we will spend a few more days in Rome before heading to Prague for a few days before flying to Lisbon for one day before flying home. We would have been gone from Oct 9 - Oct 30.

As that cruise has been moved to October of 2022, instead on Oct 15 we will fly to Ft. Lauderdale, stay at the Residence Sunny Isle beach for a few days and then board the Celebrity Equinox for a 9 night Southern Caribbean cruise taking us to Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Grand Cayman.

We will return home on October 29

July 4 - 2016

For the first time in many years, we will not be visiting a city for the 4th of July fireworks.
Instead, we will drive to Bayonne, NJ in two days and they we will be leaving on July 3 from Bayonne which is just across the river from New York City for a 7 day cruise to Bermuda.
We sail on July 3 and are at sea until arriving at Kings Warf, Bermuda on July 6. We will spend the 6th, 7th and leave in the afternoon of the 8th in Bermuda and then arrive back in New Jersey on July 10 when we will drive home.

New Years - 2016

We will celebrate New Years Eve by boarding a plane on Dec 31 and arriving on Jan 1 in Buenos Aries, where it will be summer time! We will stay in Buenos Aries until Jan 3 when we will board the Celebrity Infinity and travel to:
Montevideo, Uruguay, Punta del Este, Uruguay, Puerto Madryn Argentina, Cape Horn, Chile, Ushuais, Argentina, Punta Arenas, Chile, the Strait of Magellan,the Chilean Fjords, Puerto Montt, Chile and arriving at Valpariso, Chile on Jan 17 when we will go to Santiago for a couple of days before flying home on Jan 19, arriving on Jan 20 at 10:46am

Greece, Turkey and Croatia Cruise - Oct, 2015

On Oct 8 we will fly from Chicago to London and then board another plane to fly to Istanbul, Turkey, arriving on Oct 9 in the morning. We will stay at the Marriott Istanbul Hotel Sisli until we board the Celebrity Constellation on Oct 12. During the cruise we will visit:
Katakolon, Greece
Corfu, Greece
Slit, Croatia
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Athens, Greece
Ephesus, Turkey

and arrive in Istanbul and leave on October 23 flying back the same way from Istanbul to London to Chicago on October 24 after we stay the final night in Istanbul.
